Southwest Airlines jetliner blows 3 tires during emergency landing
DENVER - A Southwest Airlines jetliner blew three tires while making an emergency land at Denver International Airport on Monday afternoon.
Southwest flight 513 was taking off from DIA for Las Vegas when the pilot spotted a warning light indicator, said airport spokeswoman Cynthia Karvaski.
The pilot returned the plane to land at DIA, but the jetliner's landing-gear brakes had reached such hot temperatures it caused three tires to blow, closing Runway 25, Karvaski said.
The passengers were bused to the terminal and later boarded another plane for Las Vegas.
